My Approach

I provide a culturally responsive and trauma-informed therapeutic approach tailored to each client's lived experiences. My goal is to help individuals reconnect with their bodies, strengthen resilience, and move toward meaningful healing and balance.

I often describe my role as helping clients rediscover their capacity for restoration, growth, and transformation. Through a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship, I help clients build self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop practical tools that can be integrated into daily life.

My work is grounded in a holistic and client-centered philosophy that values cultural awareness, open communication, nervous system regulation, and the belief that healing can occur when we learn to listen to both our minds and our bodies.

The BYRD Model™

My therapeutic approach is informed by the BYRD Model™ (Belonging, Yielding, Resilience, and Disruption), a somatic and culturally grounded framework designed to support healing from trauma while honoring lived experience.

The BYRD Model recognizes that trauma does not only live in memory—it lives within the body, nervous system, relationships, and systems we navigate every day. Through the pillars of Belonging, Yielding, Resilience, and Disruption, individuals are invited to reconnect with safety, reclaim rest, strengthen resilience, and move toward healing.

Therapeutic Approaches

My work integrates evidence-based and body-centered approaches designed to support trauma healing and nervous system regulation, including:

• Somatic Experiencing®
• EMDR
• Flash Technique
• Clinical Hypnotherapy
• Guided Imagery
• Traditional Psychotherapy

For clients experiencing anxiety, OCD, or obsessive patterns, I may also incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). This work is approached through a nervous system-informed lens, helping clients gradually face fears while maintaining regulation, safety, and body awareness.
