Great To Meet You

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Clinical Traumatologist, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, that is deeply committed to helping individuals navigate the complexities of trauma and emotional healing.

I am in network in California with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Carelon Behavioral Health, Medical, Medicare, Humana Medicare Advantage and Quest Behavioral Health.

I am in network in Oregon with Anthem EAP - Bank of America, Carelon Behavioral Health, Aetna, Cigna, Quest Behavioral Health.

My Approach

IMG_3529.JPG

In a supportive and welcoming environment, I provide a culturally responsive and trauma-informed therapeutic approach tailored to each client’s lived experiences. My goal is to help individuals reconnect with their bodies, strengthen their inner resilience, and move toward the balance and healing they deserve.

I often describe my role as a manufacturer of hope and healing—someone who helps clients rediscover their capacity for restoration, growth, and transformation. My work is grounded in a holistic and client-centered approach that values cultural awareness, open communication, early intervention, and the reduction of stigma around mental health.

Within a safe, confidential, and nurturing therapeutic space, I support clients in developing greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and practical tools that can be integrated into daily life.

My work is also informed by the BYRD Model™ (Belonging, Yielding, Resilience, and Disruption), a somatic and culturally responsive framework I developed to help clients understand how trauma, stress, and healing live in the body, and how restoration can unfold through safety, rest, and embodied resilience.

Therapeutic Modalities

My work integrates several evidence-based and body-centered approaches designed to support both trauma healing and nervous system regulation, including:

• Somatic Experiencing (SE)
• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
• Flash Technique
• Clinical Hypnotherapy
• Guided imagery and traditional psychotherapy approaches

For clients experiencing anxiety or obsessive patterns, I may also incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). In my practice, ERP is adapted through a nervous system–informed approach, allowing clients to gradually face feared situations while maintaining regulation, safety, and body awareness.

These approaches support clients in gently processing trauma, calming the nervous system, and restoring a sense of safety and balance within the body.

The BYRD Model™

The BYRD Model™ (Belonging, Yielding, Resilience, and Disruption) is a somatic and culturally grounded framework developed to support healing from trauma while honoring the lived experiences of Black communities and communities of color.

The model recognizes that trauma does not only live in memory—it lives in the body, the nervous system, and in the systems we navigate daily. Through the pillars of Belonging, Yielding, Resilience, and Disruption, the BYRD Model invites individuals and clinicians to reconnect with safety, reclaim rest, strengthen resilience, and challenge the conditions that contribute to chronic stress and harm.

The BYRD Model informs my therapeutic approach and is further explored in my book,
Healing the Healers: The BYRD Model — A Framework for Black and POC Clinicians for Somatic Trauma Healing, Rest & Liberation.
